This is an official website of the City of El Segundo Emergency Operations Organization. During major emergencies impacting El Segundo and the greater South Bay Area, information of potential interest to the public will be posted here.

Domestic Terrorism Threat Warning

Domestic terrorism is the unlawful use, or threatened use, of violence by a group or individual based and operating entirely within the United States (or its territories) without foreign direction committed against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.

Domestic Threat Warnings are issued by the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

There are no active warnings at this time.

Local Homeland Security Measures

The El Segundo Community is asked to be vigilant.

If you have any concerns, or suspect terrorist activity of any type - people seen conducting possible surveillance or photographing or videography of public facilities, utilities (refineries, power plants, and rail and cargo transport systems), please contact the El Segundo Police Department at (310) 524-2200 by landline or cellular phone, or dial 9-1-1 to seek immediate assistance.


CURRENT ACTIVITIES: EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER (EOC) and EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM (EAS)
THE EOC IS NOT ACTIVATED

There are no specific threats to the City's safety and security. City emergency personnel remain on a heightened state of alert in response to the National Threat Advisory System.

EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM (EAS)

KFWB 980 AM and KNX 1070 AM are the designated Emergency Alert System networks issued through the Los Angeles County Operational Area. In the event of an emergency (Amber Alert, Natural or local disaster), please tune to one of the EAS stations for official news and information from the Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management and Sheriff's Department.


INFORMATION FOR BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY

There are no specific threats to the City's safety and security. City emergency personnel remain on a heightened state of alert. Local Businesses and Industry are urged to review their existing security measures and be alert for suspicious activity. If you see suspicious activity or anyone attempts to bypass security at your site, please call the El Segundo Police Department immediately.
