Accomplishments FY 2011/12 (Oct. 1st, 2011 - Sept. 30th, 2012)

  • Coordinated and administered open enrollment for all of the City’s benefits programs.
  • Coordinated the annual employee benefits fair.
  • Coordinated and administered the Early Retirement Program for miscellaneous and safety employees.
  • Assisted in the negotiations of successor Memoranda of Understanding for five (5) bargaining units. 
  • Prepared for upcoming negotiations for a successor Memorandum of Understanding with one (1) bargaining unit.  
  • Established Employment Eligibility Lists for merit system positions.
  • Provided technical assistance and guidance to departments in managing employee leaves and disability issues.
  • Renewed Professional Services Agreements with the City’s Workers’ Compensation Program Third Party Administrator, City Safety Consultant, Medical Facility and Industrial Injury and Pre-Placement Medical Facility.
  • Provided staff support in various disciplinary and performance management matters.
  • Provided consultation, information and assistance to management and supervisory staff on the Merit Ordinance, Personnel Rules and Regulations, Municipal Code, Administrative Code, Memoranda of Understanding, City-Wide Policies and applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Implemented a paperless DMV Pull Notice Program.
  • Collaborated with Information Systems to create an Automated Attendant Program for the City Reception Desk for future implementation.
  • Coordinated and scheduled the mandatory sexual harassment prevention training for managers and supervisors.
  • Administered a comprehensive personnel processing program which includes handling all aspects of the pre-employment process, providing a comprehensive new hire employee orientation session, creation and maintenance of official personnel files.
  • Tracked and updated the Employee Step and Longevity Increase Schedule; compiled and generated the necessary paperwork to Payroll and City Departments to effect the salary changes each pay period and entered this information into the EDEN system.
  • Coordinated participation in management/supervisory trainings and workshops.
  • Coordinated and monitored the administration of the Workers’ Compensation Program by YORK.
  • Administered a pro-active return-to-work program.
  • Coordinated quarterly file reviews of workers’ compensation cases.
  • Coordinated the activities of the City Safety Committee and Safety Consultant.
  • Coordinated and scheduled mandatory safety training for City employees.
  • Assisted the City’s Safety Consultant with annual safety inspections.
