Goals and Objectives FY 2012/2013 (Oct. 1st, 2012 - Sept. 30th, 2013)

  • Provide staff support to the City’s Chief Negotiator in the development of successor Memoranda of Understanding between the City and the various bargaining units scheduled for contract negotiations during FY 2012/13.
  • Provide consultation and assistance to Management and Supervisory staff on the interpretation and administration of the Merit Ordinance, Personnel Rules and Regulations, Administrative Code, Municipal Code, Memoranda of Understanding, City-Wide Policies and applicable State and Federal Laws and Regulations.
  • Maintain professional and harmonious relations with the City's six (6) bargaining units.
  • Continue to provide professional recruitment and selection services in order to hire the most qualified candidates into critical positions.
  • Administer all aspects of the employee benefits program in an effective and efficient manner. Explore the possibility of assuming full administration of the City's optical benefit program.
  • Continue to manage the City's Safety Program which includes 1) overseeing the activities of the City's Safety Committee 2) coordinating annual safety inspections, and 3) providing safety training in the workplace for required job classifications.
  • Provide and coordinate Management Training for the City’s Supervisory and Management personnel.
  • Coordinate computer software training for the required classifications.
  • Implement an Automated Attendant Program for the City reception function.
  • Research and take the necessary steps to implement a Citywide Employee Recognition Program.
