A. Economic Development is an ongoing process of creating economic opportunity for all citizens; stimulating business investment, diversifying the public revenue base and enhancing the quality of life in El Segundo.
Q. What type of business assistance is available?
A. The City may refer businesses to our economic development partners such as the South Bay Economic Development Partnership for assistance with job training and employment resources.
The City has an active Business Attraction and Business Retention Team who visit existing businesses to assist with any municipal concerns. The City of El Segundo recognizes that the majority of job growth is generated by existing businesses.

Q. Do you have a Redevelopment Agency?
A. The City of El Segundo does not have a redevelopment agency.
Q. Do you participate in the Community Development Block Grant Program?
A. The City of El Segundo has been a participant in the federal funded Community Development Block Grant Program for over twenty years. Funds are used for the purposes of delivering public services, housing rehabilitation and facilities and public improvement projects. Specific projects include home delivery meals, senior in-home care, juvenile diversion, minor home repair and residential sound insulation.
