Building Safety staff attended several professional seminars related to the adopted codes and code enforcement issues. Facilitated the construction of development projects through pre-design meetings. Promoted and conducted pre-construction meetings with contractors and developers. Continued the accelerated plan review program for major projects including Phase I of the Plaza El Segundo project, the Aerospace Project and the Corporate Campus project. Provided over the counter plan reviews. Provided plan checking services and processed approximately 3,300 plan checks and issued over 2,800 permits. Provided full-service building inspection and code enforcement services. Major Development Projects Completed: Phase I of the Plaza El Segundo project (approximately 390,000 square feet of new retail development). “The Edge” -14 acres of the Corporate Campus project (approximately 250,000 square feet of new office and retail development) New office and light industrial facilities for Teledyne, Tesco and Time Warner.
