The Planning Division’s primary responsibility is planning the future land use for the city. This division analyzes data and makes recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council. Planning is responsible for the development and implementation of the General Plan, land use regulations through zoning and subdivision codes, and environmental impact assessment. The Planning Division also administers the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) and the Air Pollution Reduction Fund. The Code Compliance program is administered jointly with the Building Safety Division.
Division services include: Amplified Noise Permits, Animal Permits, Alcohol Beverage Permits, Conditional Use Permits, Variances, Environmental Assessments, Minor Home Repair Program, Senior In-Home Care Program, Juvenile Diversion Program, Census information, Zoning and street maps.
NEW ORDINANCE ALERT In compliance with the State of California Water Conservation in Landscaping Bill (AB 1881) the City has adopted a Water Efficient Landscaping Ordinance which became effective on January 15, 2010.
