2. Street Configuration -
Streets:
Main Street, between Grand and Pine Avenues, should be narrowed to three lanes – two driving lanes and a continuous left turn lane. (S) (Diagram 2)
TWO-LANE CONFIGURATION
Curb Extensions:
Curb extensions should be extended into the street at intersections and potentially at mid-block crosswalks. (C) (Diagram 3)
THREE-LANE CONFIGURATION

Curb extensions should include special pedestrian paving, pedestrian amenities, and landscaping, as space permits. (C)
Curb extensions should be well lighted for nighttime use. (C)
Parking:
Parallel parking in both directions on Main Street should be maintained. (S) (Diagram 2)
Mid-block Crossings:
A mid-block crossing of at least ten feet in width should be maintained, providing a direct linear connection between "Handprint" Alley and the Civic Center Plaza. (S)
The mid-block crossing should have paving of a contrasting color and texture from the street. The mid-block crossing will be integrated into the Civic Center Plaza. (see Civic Center Plaza section below) (S)
