Geographic Information Systems is a part of the Information Systems Division that provides computerized mapping services to the City of El Segundo. GIS manages spacial data about the City and presents it in a map or data formats.
Much of the City's base information comes from the County, in the form of both maps and parcel ownership information. We also purchase aerial photographs of the City that the County has geo-referenced so that the information can be overlaid directly. Other data is being input from old City drawings or linked to scanned images of older drawings.
