Services provided by the Information Systems Division (ISD) include:
Helpdesk ISD works closely with users to assist with their day-to-day computer needs. Users are supported in all City buildings and all School Libraries within El Segundo.
Network Infrastructure Design & Support ISD monitors the City's network infrastructure to detect any real or potential problems. When problems are discovered, ISD works with the vendor(s) involved to resolve the problems as quickly as possible.
Telephone & PBX Support Over 400 telephones and 5 PBX systems in various City buildings are supported, including all adds, moves, and changes.
Video Camera Support ISD supports City owned surveilance cameras and the City's Aircraft Monitoring Short Turn Cameras.
Server Maintenance ISD supports operating system updates on over 20 servers City wide.
Application Support ISD provides application support and upgrades for over 100 software applications City wide. Applications include Eden Accounting, Class Registration, Water Billing, Firehouse, WebEOC, and others.
New System Evaluation & Implementation ISD works with all departments to evaluate and implement new systems.
Geographical Information Systems (GIS) ISD provides mapping services to all departments.
Security & Access Control ISD maintains the security of the City's computer systems and maintains several access control systems.
Energy Efficiency of all computer systems ISD works to ensure that City systems are working at peak efficiency, and utilizing features such as EnergyStar(tm) options.
