Accomplishments FY 2006/2007

  • Coordinated or assisted in the provision of dozens of community-wide special events (i.e. City’s 90th Anniversary, Relay for Life, etc.).
  • Provided over 80 quarterly classes, programs, and special events to thousands of residents.
  • Assumed the operations, field allocation, and maintenance of the new synthetic turf athletic complex at Nash & Mariposa.
  • Facilitated the renovation of three playgrounds at Recreation and Candy Cane parks utilizing $372,000 in grant funds.
  • Maintained 82 acres of parks, medians, golf course, open space and other City recreation facilities, including management of a 4,000 tree urban forest.
  • Continued to improve operations at and increase usage of The Lakes golf course/driving range.
  • Continued to develop staff through providing and/or requiring training and professional organization participation.
  • Continued to evaluate, develop, and improve participation in the lunchtime shuttle program.
