El Segundo is an engaging and involved community, and as such, residents come together to interact socially, recreationally, culturally, and competitively. Recreation and Parks provide opportunities for these interactions and help create a sense of community. In addition, safety and security is promoted by providing safe environments for these interactions, as well as by offering programs that reduce criminal or anti-social behavior. This section provides administrative oversight for all Recreation and Parks Department activities and facilities including parks, centers, recreation programs, transportation, golf operations, youth counseling and senior housing.
