Yellowstone in Winter” - 7 days

The sparkling beauty of Yellowstone in winter is tough to comprehend unless experienced first-hand.  With far fewer visitors than in summer, we’ll watch Old Faithful erupt against a snowy backdrop and venture to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone in the comfort of a snow-coach; spot the bison, elk and coyotes crossing our paths, and seek out the elusive gray wolves in wolf season.  We fly into and out of Bozeman, Mt. and stay in the Yellowstone Village at Mammoth and at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge as well as at Gardiner and Bozeman.   Limit: 12 persons.  Cost includes airfare, ground transport & snow-coaches, lodging, park fees and 11 meals.   Wait list after November 18.

Chocolate Factory.  With lodging 3-nites in Laughlin, a nite at La Posada and one in Sedona, we’ll finish our trip with a show “Vegas comes to Palm Springs” and a stop at Hadley’s Market.  Cost includes charter coach by “Oscar”, train fare, cruise costs, all fees, lodging, Palm Springs Show and 8 meals.

“Marine Link Tour” - 8 days

Cruise the inland waterways of Canada’s Discovery Islands on a working freight vessel where no large cruise ship will ever go.  Travel aboard the “Aurora Explorer” of Campbell River, British Columbia, while the boat makes its first annual delivery of supplies to several spots reachable only by small boat.  Venture into the depths of grand fjords along the fascinating Canadian Coast, with vistas of steep granite cliffs, numerous hanging valleys, cascading waterfalls, and shimmering glaciers in the surrounding mountain ranges. We’ll travel on a “Mystery Cruise” for those seeking adventure, with destinations revealed just a week before departure.  The schedule will be dictated by where freight must be delivered.  Accommodations are modern and comfortable, in premium staterooms with twin beds and shared baths, and there will be time for guest to disembark for sightseeing, shallow water and coastline exploring, casting out a fishing line, and other recreational activity.  In March, the weather will be cooler, but the waterfalls and snow-caps are truly spectacular, with less fog and fewer bugs to contend with.  Fly to Campbell River, spend 6-days cruising, and a day on each end of Vancouver Island.  Cost includes airfare, cruise cost with all meals aboard, lodging in Campbell River, and transfers.  Insurance available. Limit: 10 persons.  Wait list after November 18.

Iceland:  Fire, Ice & Vikings” - 9 days

Fly to Minneapolis and on to Reykjavik, Iceland.  With dramatic contrasts, Iceland, the size of Ohio, with half the population of Vermont, is a landscape forged by fire and ice.  Steaming lava fields and hot pools reflect its volcanic nature, while massive glaciers sculpt the mountains and valleys, leaving thundering waterfalls and plunging fjords.  Experience 1,500 miles of the world, that greeted the first Vikings more than 1,100 years ago.  Thanks to the Gulf Stream, the temperature is surprisingly moderate year round.  Summer begins April 24th, with a chance for Northern Lights, and average temperatures around 50 degrees.  We’ll catch the first plane of the year from Minneapolis, and stay in a range of accommodations (from pleasant hotels to working farms).  Trip includes two cruises, whale watching, mudpots, glaciers and exciting craters, and lots of wonderful waterfalls and steam-vents.  Soak in health restoring hot pools, and visit spectacular wildlife and seabird Reserves.  Cost includes airfares, cruise costs, preserve fees, all lodging, and many meals.

            May 8 - 16, 2009                                Cost $3,450-Sharing    Single Supplement - $850
