Capital Improvement Project Advisory Committee

Capital Improvement Project Advisory Committee (Public Works) is a 5-member committee, composed of 3 residents and 2 local business representatives (no residency requirements for business reps). Members serve without compensation, for 4-year terms, without term limits. The Director of Administrative Services and the Director of Public Works provide staff support to the committee. The committee assists in the development of the 5-year Capital Improvement Program ("CIP"). Each year staff proposes CIP projects for a 5-year period. The committee reviews these projects and makes recommendations to the City Council for funding consideration in conjunction with the City's annual budget process. In addition to the projects proposed by staff, the committee holds a community workshop each year to receive project requests from the general public. The committee generally meets at 7:00 p.m., on a weekly basis during the months of March, April, May and June, with the goal of finalizing its recommendations to the City Council in July.
