Recycling Bins

Click here to find out what’s recyclable?

City-Provided Recycling Services (Single-Family Residences)

  • Beginning January 2007, residents can affix a “Recyclables Only” sticker to their own trash containers to identify them as recycling containers. This will permit residents to supplement or replace the 18-gallon recycling bins and facilitate recycling in El Segundo at no additional cost. Stickers are available at the Public Works Department.

  • To dispose of 18-gallon recycling bins, affix the “Take Me Away!” sticker to the bin(s) and place it curbside on your regular collection day. The driver will then know the bin is no longer needed. If you have any questions about the new program, don’t hesitate to call Public Works at (310) 524-2359.

Multi Family Recycling

  • Collection for multi-family residences is handled differently. The type of service provided is the responsibility of the property owner, not the City. Residents should contact their building manager or the waste hauler servicing the building for questions related to refuse, recycling or disposal of large items.

  • Tree Musketeers, an El Segundo based youth environmental organization, does offer a subscription based curbside recycling program to multi-family residences. Call 322-0263 to order your blue bin and sign up for recycling services.

  • Residents can also bring recyclables to the Maintenance Facility at 150 Illinois Street. Bins are located at the north end of the parking lot and are available 24 hours a day.

For more information call (310) 524-2359.
