·Filed the 2007 California Integrated Waste Management Report and received a State approved waste
diversion rate of 82 percent.
·Implemented and monitored the City’s Source Reduction and Recycling Program.
·Utilized Department of Conservation grant funds for household hazardous waste presentations
at local schools and to implement classroom recycling at all El Segundo Unified District Schools.
·Coordinated Clean-Up Weeks, Christmas Tree Recycling Program
·Administered the refuse and recycling contract for approximately 4,500 residential customers,
nine City buildings, 40 street containers, and the recycling drop-off center.
·Provided residents, businesses and local schools with information regarding recycling and
household hazardous waste disposal via local newspapers, the Inside El Segundo, brochures and flyers,
the City Internet, and local City events.
·Purchased recycling receptacles for the Recreation and Parks Department with
Department of Conservation grant funds.
