ALERT El Segundo The City of El Segundo has implemented the Everbridge Mass System for Citizen Alerts. The emergency notification system provides emergency notifications by communicating the alerts to thousands of businesses and residents in minutes. The system allows you to receive emergency alerts by cell phone, text message and email, as well as your home phone. If you want to use this system, we need you to update your contact information.

Got Game? Teens and Tweens Game Night The El Segundo Public Library presents a special evening of gaming for kids in 5th grade and up. From 6:30-9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23rd, kids are invited to play in tournament-style gaming with 3 Wii consoles and networked PC's.

9th Annual Author Fair Join in the fun as the El Segundo Public Library presents its ninth annual El Segundo Author Fair, taking place at the library on Sunday, June 7th from 12:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. As many as 40 authors will participate and sign books. This year's featured author panels will include poetry, mystery, and a "Stretching Your Dollar" panel. Rounding out the day will be children's entertainment, goody bags, and live music.
The Author Fair is co-sponsored by the Friends of the El Segundo Public Library and by the El Segundo Kiwanis Club.

The 2010 Census launched its next operation, Address Canvassing. A preliminary wave began on March 29th, and the mass effort launched on April 6, 2009. The entire phase concludes by June 19, 2009. (
