EL SEGUNDO POWER REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Cleaner, More Efficient Power Plant Coming Summer 2013

El Segundo Power began construction of its highly efficient, 560 megawatt power plant in June 2011. With the foundations in place, deliveries of turbines, transformers and other oversize power generation equipment can begin this month, March 2012. Equipment will travel by truck and trailer in El Segundo from Sepulveda Boulevard to the construction site by the following route:

  • El Segundo Boulevard west to Main Street
  • Main Street north to Grand Avenue
  • Grand Avenue west to Vista Del Mar Boulevard

The routes and delivery schedule have been permitted through coordination with state, county and city jurisdictions. Several deliveries are planned the nights of March 21-31. More will follow during the next couple of months; up to 20 oversize total loads are planned. Generally, one escorted load per night will occur between 1030pm and 3am. We will keep the City informed as the schedule for future deliveries is known.

El Segundo Power is grateful for the City of El Segundo's continued patience, support and feedback throughout the permitting and construction of this vital energy source. When on line, the new plant will be capable of powering more than 400,000 homes.

If you have any questions regarding these oversize deliveries, please contact our project hotline at 888-312-0881 or visit the El Segundo Power website at http://elsegundorepowering.com.
