El Segundo Library Summer Reading Program June 22- August 19
Paws, Claws, Scales & Tales
Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales! is the theme of this year’s Summer Reading Program.
Registration begins on June 22, and continues through the first week of August.
We offer a Read-To-Me Program for pre-readers, a Reading Program for young readers in grades kindergarten through fifth, and a Totally Teen Program for grade six and up.
To participate, visit the library, sign up for the program, check out some books, then take them home and read them at your leisure. List the books on the reading log that you will receive when you register, return to the library with your log and you can choose a grab bag each time you read 10 books, or 5 books if you are in the Totally Teen program. It’s that simple!
There are also optional weekly storytime programs (some require separate registration),a kick-off program and a finale celebration.
For even more fun, you can click on the link below to print out a word search puzzle and 6 activity sheets. The activity sheets are designed to be used with any newspaper, so ask a parent if they have one you can borrow.
The Library is located at 111 W. Mariposa Ave. at Main St. For further information, please call 524-2726
