Advisory: Storm Expected to Hit Southern California
A strong storm is anticipated to hit Southern California inthe next two days. Light to moderate rain is likely on Thursday (2/17/17) and asignificant amount of rain is anticipated on Friday (2/18/17). Heavy rain couldcontinue to fall into early Saturday morning.
Residents and business owners in low lying areas of the cityare encouraged to protect their property from potential flooding situations.Sandbags are available to El Segundo residents and can be picked up at thefollowing city locations:

Strong winds may accompany the rain and can knock downtrees, power lines and scatter debris into public areas. If you see a downedpower line DO NOT APPROACH IT! Always assume downed power lines are energizedand dangerous even if you don’t see sparks. Stay away and call 911.
To minimize the chance of becoming involved in a trafficcollision, drivers are encouraged to slow down during inclement weather and toavoid possible flooded roadway areas near the curb lane. Also, if you areutilizing your windshield wipers you must have your headlights on as well.
