California Energy Commission Public Workshop Re: El Segundo Power Redevelopment Project
CEC Staff Workshop and Site Visit - June 25, 2008
California Energy Commission staff has issued a Notice of Site Visit and Staff Workshop to discuss the Staff Analysis of the proposed modifications to the Project Description and Conditions of Certification for the El Segundo Power Redevelopment Project (00-AFC-14C).
The workshop, which is to be held in the City Council Chambers at 350 Main Street, will be preceded by a power station site visit at 2:45 p.m. The issuance of the Public Notice and Staff Analysis on June 13, 2008 kicks off a 30-day public review period.
The workshop is for the purpose of discussing the Staff Analysis (a copy of which can be obtained on the Energy Commission’s website at: www.energy.ca.gov/sitingcases/elsegundo_amendment/index.html) of the proposed modifications to the Project, which the Commission approved in 2005. The purpose of the site visit is to provide the public an opportunity to view the site and receive an explanation of the proposed changes in relation to the current site and the bicycle path and beach area immediately to the west. Round-trip transportation for the Site Visit will be provided by a shuttle bus from El Segundo City Hall.
Attending the workshop will be Energy Commission staff, South Coast Air Quality Management District personnel, and El Segundo Power representatives, in addition to other agency representatives, and interested members of public.
