Following a screening and evaluation of applications, only
those candidates who appear most qualified and meet the City's particular needs will be invited to participate in the examination process.
This process will consist of a written test (Pass/Fail) and
a structured interview (weighted 100%). Scores may be calculated using a conversion formula. Successful candidates into the Cadet Program will be required to pass a city paid
medical evaluation with drug and alcohol screen, polygraph evaluation, psychological evaluation, and a thorough background investigation as part of the city's pre-employment process.
