6:30  PM Evening Book Discussion Featuring A Girl in Traffick

Join library staff, authors, and other avid readers in a lively discussion focusing on a book-of-the-month. Free to all, the meetings will be held the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the library's Friends of the Library Room.

On April 26 we are pleased to present author Mamta Jain Valderrama in a discussion of her novel A Girl in Traffick.

All Day EventPlanning Commission Meeting
Planning & Building Safety's Planning Commission was established pursuant to the Planning Laws of the State of California (Sec. 65100-65106) on August 20, 1946, by City Ordinance #300. The commission is comprised of 5 members who serve with minimal compensation, for 4-year terms, without term limits. The commission makes recommendations to the City Council on the adoption or amendment of the City's General Plan; performs duties with respect to land subdivision, planning and zoning as prescribed by City and State law; and, advises the City Council on those matters falling within its charged responsibilities in a manner reflecting concern for the overall development and environment of the City as a setting for human activities. The Commission meets on the 2nd. and 4th. Thursday of each month, at 5:30p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers.
3:00  PM Free Computer Class: Social Media Basics
Wondering what the hype about social media is all about? This class is designed to provide an overview of the different types of social media, how to set up an account, and basic features of what you can do on each site. Bring your own device to practice on or follow along with the presentation.

Please note seating is limited and registration is required. Some classes take place when the library is closed and late arrivals will not be admitted 5 minutes after class begins.

4:00  PM Friends of the Library Business Meeting
Members of the Friends of the El Segundo Public Library meet to discuss library-related activities. The business meeting is held on a bi-monthly basis at 4:00 p.m. in the Library's Friends of the Library Room--February, April, June, August, October, and December. The business meetings are open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.

The library's Drop-In Lobby Events feature a six-program series with library staff and local guest speakers leading hands-on activities and lecture presentations.

On Wednesday, May 3, stop by for a relaxing hour of tea, conversation, and adult coloring.

The El Segundo Historical Committee needs pictures of your home, neighborhood, business, downtown areas, school, church and family activities that give a view of El Segundo's past.

If you do not wish to donate your photos or other memorabilia, the Committee will make copies and return your originals. Please identify your photos as fully as possible.
