6:30  PM Evening Book Discussion Featuring A Man Called Ove

Join library staff, authors, and other avid readers in a lively discussion focusing on a book-of-the-month. Free to all, the meetings will be held the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the library's Friends of the Library Room.

On March 29 library staff discuss the novel A Man Called Ove by Fredrick Backman. A summary of the book reads:

Ove is a curmudgeon. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. The arrival of two chatty neighbors with their chatty daughters will change this cranky old man and shake a local residents' association to its very foundations.

2:00  PM Concerts in the Library: The Susie Glaze New Folk Ensemble

This lush new folk Americana fusion ensemble presents gorgeous eclectic blends of mountain folk and exciting new grassy and Celtic-inspired originals, all with the remarkable voice of Susie Glaze. The group has been likened to the British bands Pentangle and Fairport Convention, in that they blend classic folk music with rough-edged stories of tragedy and fate. This performance will take place at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 15, in the Friends of the Library Room. The program is part of a series called Concerts in the Library, featuring classical and jazz programs, as well as music from different traditions.

Programs in the series will take place the third Saturday each month from January to May. All concerts are free.
