Concerts in the Library: Earth Angels--Vocal Girl Groups Salute This singing group consisting of Albina Fleishman, Lynn Fanelli, and Lori Mark is well known for their Andrew Sisters and '50's shows. Earth Angels salute many female vocal groups, right up to the disco era, including the Pointer Sisters. This performance will take place at 2:00pm. on Saturday, March 17, in the Friends of the Library Room. The program is part of a series called Concerts in the Library, featuring classical and jazz programs, as well as music from different traditions.
Programs in the series will take place the third Saturday each month from January to May. All concerts are free.

Recreation & Parks Commission Meeting Recreation & Parks Commission: (Recreation & Parks) was established on March 23, 1938 by Resolution #448. It is comprised of 5 members, who must be residents of El Segundo. Commissioners serve with minimal compensation for 4-year terms, without term limits. The commission advises the City Council on all matters pertaining to recreation, parks, parkways and street trees. It makes recommendations to the City Council regarding level of services, policies and assists in implementing Recreation and Parks Department improvements and programs, including youth counseling, senior outreach, golf operations, city transportation, and in the acquisition and disposal of park property. The commission meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, at 6:00 p.m., in City Hall Council Chambers.

Planning Commission Meeting Adjourned Planning & Building Safety's Planning Commission was established pursuant to the Planning Laws of the State of California (Sec. 65100-65106) on August 20, 1946, by City Ordinance #300. The commission is comprised of 5 members who serve with minimal compensation, for 4-year terms, without term limits. The commission makes recommendations to the City Council on the adoption or amendment of the City's General Plan; performs duties with respect to land subdivision, planning and zoning as prescribed by City and State law; and, advises the City Council on those matters falling within its charged responsibilities in a manner reflecting concern for the overall development and environment of the City as a setting for human activities. The Commission meets on the 2nd. and 4th. Thursday of each month, at 5:30p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers.
El Segundo Certified Farmers Market
El Segundo Certified Farmers Market is open every Thursday throughout the year from 3pm to 7pm. Farm Fresh produce, prepared food booths and crafts are available for purchase weekly. The market is located in front of City Hall on the 300 block of Main Street. Main Street is closed to through traffic from Grand to Holly beginning at 1pm. Nearby street parking is available surrounding the market. Handicap parking is available on Holly Street East of Main.
Friends of the Library Business Meeting Members of the Friends of the El Segundo Public Library meet to discuss library-related activities. The business meeting is held the fourth Thursday of the month, on a bi-monthly basis, at 4:00pm in the library's Friends of the Library Room--January, March, May, July, September, and November. The business meetings are open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.
