Evening Book Discussion Featuring Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail
Library - Library Events

Join library staff, authors, and other avid readers in a lively discussion focusing on a book-of-the-month.  Free to all, the meetings will be held the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the library's Friends of the Library Room.

Cheryl Strayed's book Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail will be the focus of discussion on Wednesday, May 27.  A summary of the book reads:

Strayed tells the story of her emotional devastation after the death of her mother and the weeks she spent hiking the 1,000-mile Pacific Crest Trail.  As her family, marriage, and sanity go to pieces, Strayed drifts into spontaneous encounters with other men, to the consternation of her husband, and eventually hits rock bottom while shooting up heroin with a new boyfriend.  Convinced that nothing else can save her, she latches onto the unlikely idea of a long solo hike.

The library is located at 111 W. Mariposa Avenue and Main Street.  Call (310) 524-2728 for additional information.
