Welcome to Public Works!

It is a pleasure to serve the residents, businesses and visitors of the City of El Segundo.

The Public Works Department strives to deliver the highest quality services to our residents and businesses and continuously improve our constituents' quality of life. We are organized into: Public Works Administration, Solid Waste Program, General Services, Engineering, Streets and Water. We’re dedicated to maintaining City facilities and public infrastructure and delivering the projects in the City’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) in a safe, logical, cost-effective manner. Public Works is responsible for the operation and maintenance of about 60 miles of streets and alleyways; 65 miles of water lines and 5,000 water meters; 60 miles of sewer lines; 18 miles of storm drains; 260,000 square feet of buildings; 156 vehicles and the delivery of a $30 million, three-year capital improvement program.
