IMPERIAL HIGHWAY RESURFACING COULD IMPACT TRAFFIC NEAR LAX THIS WEEKEND (September 22-23)
(Los Angeles, CA) Motorists should allow extra time heading toward Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) due to a street resurfacing project on eastbound Imperial Highway. The entire stretch of work will generally take place between Vista del Mar and Sepulveda Boulevard. The resurfacing, performed by the Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services, will take place from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and this activity will be the final phase of the work. Eastbound Imperial Highway will be closed, and the eastbound I-105 entrance will be intermittently inaccessible at times. Pershing Drive will be accessible from eastbound Imperial Highway on Saturday. Westbound Imperial Highway will remain open at all times.
Motorists can use Sepulveda Boulevard/Pacific Coast Highway or Vista del Mar as north-south routes, and Rosecrans Avenue or other east-west routes to avoid the construction – click here for Local Access Detour Map. LAX partners with Waze, the world’s largest community-based traffic reporting app, to provide enhanced information on conditions inside the airport and on nearby roadways.
